Everything great.

The free breakfast was a nice touch, although it was basic. The playground was great for the kids to burn off energy. The location was perfect, we were able to easily visit family in different areas. Plus, the nearby beach was beautiful and not too crowded.

The room was very outdated and not very clean. The bathroom had a strange smell and the shower was difficult to use.

Our recent stay at this hotel was fantastic in so many ways. First of all, the value for money was exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices, especially considering the attention to detail throughout the hotel. The rooms on the ground floor were clean and spacious, and we appreciated the basic amenities provided. Additionally, the location near the airport was incredibly convenient, allowing us to easily access the hotel upon arrival. The fact that it was also situated next to an excellent café made it even better - we could grab a delicious breakfast before starting our day of exploring. Furthermore, being near the beach was a definite highlight, as we got to enjoy some relaxing seaside walks. we couldn't have asked for a better experience at this hotel.

Additionally, there is an excellent cafe right next door, providing a convenient option for meals and snacks.

Some rooms may be cramped and lack sitting areas, so it's important to choose the right room option when making a reservation.

My stay at Wayside Motel was everything I needed and more. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly owner who had made sure my room was warm and welcoming. The cleanliness of the motel was impeccable, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The motel provided ample parking and even had a playground for the kids. The free washing machine was a lifesaver, and the option to use a dryer or drying racks was convenient. The motel's close proximity to the highway did not disrupt my peaceful stay, thanks to the effective double glazing. The newer units at the front of the property offered beautiful views of the garden, with easy access and a private outdoor seating area. The kitchen facilities were well-equipped, allowing me to cook meals comfortably.

While the Wi-Fi signal was not strong enough and kept dropping out, it wasn't a major issue for me as I mainly used it for charging my devices. Additionally, the room I stayed in during the summer was too hot, with limited ventilation and direct sunlight.

Convenient location on the main Christchurch route. Welcoming and helpful staff. Clean, well-equipped, and comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the spaciousness and separate areas. A recommendable experience.
