There were plenty of eating and drinking options close by, and we appreciated that. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the young lady who worked the afternoon shift at the front desk. The reception area and breakfast were really good, and the staff were always polite. We also enjoyed the excellent WiFi and the free parking just down the street.

I stayed at Hotel Afonso V for 2 nights during my trip from Lisbon to Porto. The location was perfect, in a quiet part of the city but still close to the train station and old city center. The executive double room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast had a great selection for both cold and hot food. I was impressed that they had a vegan breakfast ready for me every morning. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the private tour they set up for us of the Templar Castle and Convent of Christ was incredible. It was definitely one of the best stops on our trip.

The hotel's proximity to the mall and easy access to the highway were a plus. Although not important to everyone, the decor in the lobby was eye-catching and added charm to the overall ambiance.

The thin walls allowed us to hear everything going on around us, especially the loud vacuuming early every morning. the bathroom was poorly ventilated and the toilet flush wasn't efficient.
