We loved staying at this boutique hotel in the center of town. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from the waterfront. The rooftop views were stunning and we enjoyed spending time there. Despite our room being next to an elevator, it was surprisingly quiet. We also took advantage of the spa facilities, including massages and facials, as well as the sauna and indoor pool. our experience at Castanheiro Boutique was fantastic!

During my stay at the Castanheiro Boutique, I was delighted by the outstanding rooftop pool. With its breathtaking views over the city and sea, it provided the perfect oasis for relaxation. The pool's jacuzzi and deck area were equally impressive, allowing me to unwind and soak up the glorious surroundings. Additionally, the hotel's central location in the Old Town made it incredibly convenient to explore Funchal on foot. The variety and quality of the breakfasts were exceptional, and the Christmas evening fixed-menu dinner was a delightful culinary experience. Although the beds were a bit firm for my liking, this small drawback was overshadowed by all the other wonderful aspects of the hotel. I highly recommend this beautifully restored and decorated hotel for a truly memorable stay.

We had an amazing city trip staying in a hotel which was perfectly located near the old town. The rooftop bar and views were outstanding, the tapas were delicious and great value. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with hot and cold food options, along with fresh fruit and pastries to suit all tastes, and we enjoyed drinking freshly squeezed orange juice. We also appreciated the option to have Prosecco with breakfast.

The hotel terrace area could be updated and at times the scramble for sun loungers got a little overwhelming. We noticed the pool and sauna areas next to the spa could be quite noisy, and guests could be left waiting for drinks or food on the busy terrace.
