We absolutely loved staying at this unique and charming guesthouse. The old train station setting was romantic and the lounge with its cozy fire was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Walking along the unused train tracks was a special experience. The fully equipped kitchen was a great feature and the staff were friendly and helpful in recommending walking routes. Wifi was reliable and parking was convenient and free.

the former train station is a beautiful building, with a special charm of sleeping above the tracks. the common space was cozy, especially with the fireplace. the owner was friendly and gave great tips for exploring the area around Marvao. worth the distance and the road is stunning.

Breakfast could be upgraded with local cheese and chorizo, and maybe some eggs. the coffee was not satisfying, seemed to be chicory.

We got great value for our money at this wonderful and cosy hotel. The room was comfortable and the location in a small village surrounded by cork trees and sheep was lovely. The staff at the guesthouse were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

We had the most incredible experience at Train Spot Guesthouse! The location is absolutely breathtaking, situated at a former train station on the Portuguese-Spanish border. The owners have done an amazing job converting the building into a beautiful guesthouse while still preserving its historical charm. The architectural concept is fantastic, and staying in a real train station was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. The quiet evenings by the railways, now inactive, and waking up to the sound of hundreds of birds made our stay truly outstanding. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the contact with the owner was easy. We loved every moment of our stay here!

During my Christmas stay, I loved the cozy and warm atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my entire stay. The rooms were well-designed and comfortable, with super comfy beds that ensured a good night's sleep. The hotel's location was perfect, providing a peaceful and scenic environment to relax and unwind. the hotel's unique design and historical background added to its charm, making it a truly memorable experience.

While my overall experience was positive, there were a few minor drawbacks. there were some upkeep issues such as the honesty bar not being available and cupboards showing signs of age.
