Upon arrival, I met a friendly hostess who was also our bar lady and waitress - talk about multitasking! the resort had stunning views from the chalet. the meals were top-notch. great value for money. the only downside was struggling to make coffee during power outages. Pretty sure I saw some penguins out the window trying to keep warm!

I was pleasantly surprised at how cozy and comfortable my stay at Riverview Country Inn was. The country-style ambiance created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the food at the on-site restaurant was delicious. Browsing through the little store on the premises was a delightful experience. The presence of electric blankets made a huge difference in ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. The location was convenient, being just five minutes off the highway, yet still offering peaceful views of the mountains. The spacious accommodation in Unit 1 was perfect for our group of five, and having a kitchen and BBQ area was a bonus. The affordability of Riverview Country Inn compared to other nearby options was impressive.

While my overall experience at Riverview Country Inn was positive, there were a few minor drawbacks. It would have been nice to have little mats in front of the beds to prevent stepping onto the cold floor in the mornings.

This hotel is a great value for money, offering affordable prices while still maintaining attention to detail. The location in the small old village of Swinburne, just off the N3 outside Harrismith, provides easy access to the freeway. The staff at this hotel are friendly and provide great service, ensuring a pleasant stay. The rooms are basic but cozy, with a fireplace for a cozy atmosphere, and even offer a bath for some relaxation. Lastly, the breakfast provided at this hotel is delicious and satisfying.

All was well during my stay.

The nature surrounding the property was stunning and easy access to the main national road was a great advantage. the warm welcome and excellent service complemented the wonderful traditional establishment which was a perfect retreat during Christmas. the food was of very high quality and the menu was excellent. the friendly people were awesome, everyone smiles and stops for a chat with you which made it feel like a beautiful home away from home.

The room needed some maintenance with broken windows and one sliding door not opening/closing properly. there were no ceiling fans in the rooms, which will be necessary in the height of summer.

Cozy country vibe, with rustic decor and vintage charm. Friendly staff, accommodating early check-in. Delicious, affordable pub meals. Comfortable beds and clean accommodations. Beautiful views from the rooms. A great option for a stopover between Johannesburg and Durban.

If you're looking for a convenient stopover, this hotel is perfect. It's located so close to the highway that it's incredibly easy to find and make a quick stop. The rooms are cozy and clean, with warm bedding and water. The staff is friendly and accommodating, providing quick service and being exceptionally helpful. The restaurant even has a cute children's corner and offers delicious food at a reasonable price. The views are also beautiful, making it a pleasant and value-for-money stay.

One of the rooms we were moved to during our stay was in poor condition, with dirty blankets, cracked walls, and other issues.

Lovely location, convenient restaurant, good food, friendly staff, neat and clean rooms, pet friendliness.

As bike riders, we loved the convenient location, just 700m from Montrose Services. The accommodation was clean, functional, and perfect for a one-night stopover. The Hare & Hound pub offered delicious craft beer, cocktails, and home-cooked, affordable food. The staff were absolutely brilliant, providing excellent service.

Felt truly spoiled, no complaints.
