The hotel's location opposite the beach in the lovely area of St James was absolutely stunning. I could hear the soothing sound of the ocean from my room, and it was within walking distance to Kalk Bay and many cafes. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. They even went out of their way to contact me when I forgot something behind.

Superb location by the sea. Walking distance to Kalk Bay. Charming cafe/restaurant/shop nearby. Incredible staff and owners. Out of this world food. Generous and specific offerings. Convenient location for exploring Cape Town. Humble and helpful staff

We recently stayed at a charming boutique hotel in a fantastic location by the sea. The staff at Sonnekus were exceptional, providing attentive and understanding care for our elderly parents. They even went the extra mile to make our stay memorable, contacting us about a forgotten item. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced, and the beach and nearby areas were easily accessible. We enjoyed spotting dolphins and a whale in the beautiful bay. The popularity of the establishment was evident from the steady stream of passersby. We will definitely be returning to Sonnekus Boutique Hotel & Bistro.

sonnekus boutique hotel & bistro in st james exceeded our expectations during our recent stay. the staff made us feel welcomed and appreciated, and the breakfast was superb. the location, just steps away from the beach, was perfect and we loved exploring the nearby areas of muizenberg, kalk bay, and fish hoek. the rooms were beautifully equipped and clean, and the hosts went above and beyond for their guests, even offering to drive us to a nearby pharmacy. we will definitely be back!
