I stayed at a hotel in A Guarda called Bruselas and had a good experience. The hotel may be a little outdated, but it is well maintained and offers good value for the cost. Despite the staff's limited English, they were still very helpful and accommodating. The location is excellent, being very close to the bus station. The bar, although sometimes noisy, closes at a reasonable time, and it's mostly locals watching soccer, so there is no all-night partying.
