I had a wonderful stay at The Countryside Udawalawe. The check-in process was professional and the bungalow I stayed in was spacious, spotless, and comfortable. I loved the modern bathroom, hot shower, and the balcony with a beautiful view. The hotel is set back from the main road, so it's quiet and peaceful. The gardens are lovely, and I enjoyed playing badminton. The owner, Lahiru, was incredibly efficient and organized, making my stay even more enjoyable. He provided clear information about the safari and transfer prices beforehand, and even arranged a driver for my transfer from Ella. The safari experience was fantastic, and the hotel even provided snacks for the early morning safari and a delicious breakfast upon my return. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent hospitality.

It would be great if there were fewer flies during meal times, and if there were more seats or chill-out areas by the pool.

The Countryside Udawalawe is a small and efficiently run hotel. Great value for money. Breakfast included and delicious Sri Lankan curry buffet for dinner. Close to the elephant transit centre. Lahiru arranged a morning safari at a reasonable price. Wonderful stay!

The communication before our arrival was seamless and Lahiru greeted us with a refreshing drink. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The highlight of our stay was the delicious dinner that we enjoyed - we couldn't resist going back for seconds! Lahiru also organized an unforgettable safari experience for us, which was worth every penny. The location of the property was ideal for both the safari and visiting the Elephant Transit Home. This hotel was the perfect spot to spend our New Year’s holiday. We loved the well-organized safari and our knowledgeable guide who showed us the amazing wildlife. the location was ideal, close to the elephant transit center, which was a must-see attraction. we enjoyed the reasonable price of the safari and the modern and lovely bathroom in our room.

The only negative aspect we experienced was the flies during breakfast, but honestly, that is beyond the control of the hotel. Regardless, we were able to enjoy the fresh and delicious breakfast served after our safari.
