Jaw-dropping views of Brienz lake and waterfall, super comfy beds, and a not bad breakfast.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel tucked away in a peaceful forest, overlooking the breathtaking Brienzersee lake. The staff at this 180-year-old building were beyond amazing, making my stay even more memorable. The location, situated between the majestic Giessbach waterfall and the serene lake, was simply spectacular. The old-fashioned design transported me back to the Victorian era, adding to the unique and historic atmosphere. Despite the small size of my room, it had all the necessary facilities, and the 24-hour free coffee station on the third floor was a delightful touch. my break in this paradise on earth was an unforgettable experience that I would love to repeat.

Very kind staff, clean room, nice bathroom, great location and view over the lake. Comprehensive breakfast with good quality and a lot of choice. Spectacular landscape and grand old building. Cozy and elegant bar, with a talented pianist. Excellent continental buffet breakfast and wonderful food in the restaurants.

The location of this venue is simply breathtaking - it is nestled high on the mountain, with stunning views of the grand waterfall and the lake. We loved being able to take walks down to the lake and up to the peak, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The service provided by the staff, especially the receptionist, was exceptional. They were friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The restaurant on site was outstanding, offering delicious meals for both lunch and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were well-trained and provided top-notch service. The antique funicular takes you up to the hotel, where you can enjoy a scenic ride surrounded by cut flowers. The hotel is located right by the beautiful Lake Brienz, and you can easily access the ferry to explore the surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with a lovely view of the waterfall. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, from fresh fruit to homemade bread. The service is superb, making you feel truly pampered during your stay.

The restaurant's evening meals may not meet everyone's expectations.

Excellent location, beautiful views of the waterfall and lake from the balcony. Spacious, period-style room with antique furnishings and a nice breeze. Friendly and attentive staff. Ornate breakfast with a wide variety of delicious food. Stunning scenery.

We had a perfect stay at Grandhotel Giessbach. the location was stunning, with a breathtaking view of the lake and hills. the terrace of the hotel offered a spectacular view, and the waterfall right beside the hotel added to the scenic beauty. the staff were warm and welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere. the food at the restaurant was delicious, with a good selection of spirits. the breakfast was high-class as well. the hotel's Victorian style added to the charm, and the room was equipped with everything we needed. the good WiFi was an added bonus.

The breakfast buffet was amazing and offered a variety of options for everyone. We also enjoyed the free shuttle service to and from the train station. the antique funicular ride was a unique experience and provided beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Some of the hiking trails were closed due to fallen trees which limited our plans. the shuttle service could have had more frequent times to the train station instead of just one in the morning.
