loved our stay in windermere! abacus house was even better than before - beautiful rooms, modern and clean. carmel and paddy were perfect hosts, making us feel at home. great location for restaurants and walking to boness. cannot wait to return!

Breakfasts were ok.

I recently stayed at Abacus House for a couple of days and had a fantastic experience. Paddy and Carmel were excellent hosts, making me feel very welcome. The room was modern and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and a fan to keep cool. The location was superb, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The little touches like water, coffee, orange juice, and porridge in the room were greatly appreciated. I can't wait to come back!

For the price we paid, we got excellent value and the room itself was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, just a short walk away from the cafes, restaurants, and scenic walks in Windermere. The hosts, Paddy and Carmel, were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the area, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The breakfast option could have been better, but we knew in advance that it wasn't available. However, there were tubs of instant porridge and cartons of orange juice provided in the room, and there were plenty of nearby cafes where we could enjoy a delicious breakfast.

my recent stay in windermere was amazing, but abacus house took it to another level. the hosts were exceptional, going above and beyond to make my partner's birthday special with decorations and treats. the room exceeded all expectations, with comfy beds and thoughtful amenities. truly fantastic!

parking was tight

Lovely room, ideal for a solo visit. The room was comfortable and immaculate, with beautiful bedding and a very comfy bed. I slept well both nights. The en-suite bathroom was modern and clean. I appreciated the nice touches like the chocolates, biscuits, and ample tea and coffee provided in the room. The location was very central, just a two-minute walk from the town center and a pleasant 20-minute stroll to the lake. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

Parking was a bit tight, especially during the bank holiday, but I managed to find a spot nearby. I ended up purchasing a parking pass for the nearby car park the next day, which solved the problem.

Abacus House provided a beautiful room that looked brand new and was expertly done. They offered a room with a large bed for my wife and I, as well as a single bed for our adult daughter. the stay was brilliant, with spotlessly clean and tidy accommodations. the hosts were friendly and welcoming, even leaving sherry and chocolates in the room. the room was cleaned daily, with towels replaced and everything restored. the location was convenient, walking distance from the railway station and close to delicious food options. it was a very nice stay.

We had a fantastic stay at a lovely place in Windermere. the host at Abacus House went above and beyond to make sure our experience was exceptional. From providing chilled water and a fan without us asking, to decorating the room with a birthday banner, balloons, and cakes for my partner's special day, we were truly impressed. the room exceeded our expectations and was incredibly comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, from a very cozy bed to tea/coffee facilities, TV, and plenty of towels. the location was also great, just a short walk from the town center. We couldn't have asked for more!

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, with daily replenishments of porridge, juice, tea, coffee. The bed was incredibly cozy, and I didn't miss my own bed at all. The location was perfect, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, as well as local walks for outdoor enthusiasts like me. Additionally, the hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating, going out of their way to assist my elderly mother and even helping us with our luggage.

The lack of breakfast provided, but this was expected and there were options like instant porridge and cartons of orange juice available in the room. However, the abundance of cafes serving breakfast nearby made up for it.

The rooms were beautifully refurbished, clean, and spacious. The owners were friendly and offered a free taxi service. The location was central with plenty of dining options nearby. Close proximity to Bowness and local walks.
