Abbey House was a bit old fashioned, but the positives were good tea and coffee facilities, a hot shower, and quiet nights. The parking was tight but available, and the staff were friendly. The rooms and breakfast area were spotlessly clean. It's a 20-minute walk into town. A little expensive, but understandable due to the university graduation.

We had a great welcome and were shown around the facilities at Abbey House. The en suite shower was fantastic and the bedroom had everything we needed. They even cooked supper for us, which was a nice touch. The car parking was convenient and the hotel was very quiet, ensuring a peaceful stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at a charming hotel near the town center. The free parking was convenient, and the beautiful old building had a nostalgic feel. The staff was exceptionally kind and even upgraded our room for free. We enjoyed a delicious full English breakfast and found the hospitality to be top-notch. Highly recommend. a lovely experience.

The hotel was extremely clean and tidy, with a lovely breakfast area offering lots of choice. the beds were very comfortable, and we were able to share one room with 3 single beds, which was great. the staff were friendly and welcoming, and there was plenty of tea and coffee available. the shower in the room was also great, and the wifi and desk made it easy to do some work. the hotel was easy to find and there were no delays with check-in or check-out.

I could hear noises from reception in the evening and morning, especially every time the front door opened and shut. However, this noise stopped overnight, so it didn't affect my sleep too much.

We were warmly welcomed by the owners and enjoyed a comfortable stay in a beautifully decorated Exec Double Room. the room was impeccably clean and the bed was very comfortable. the WiFi and TV worked perfectly, and we had no issues with the water pressure and temperature in the shower. the breakfast offered a delicious full English option, which we supplemented with items from the breakfast bar. the variety and quality of the breakfast were excellent, and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. the hotel's key location provided easy access to public transportation and was situated in a quiet neighborhood.

Romantic escape - worst aspects: there was no fan in the room, which made it uncomfortable when the weather was warm outside.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and have been very impressed with the value for money. The prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail and the level of service provided by the staff. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area, which adds to the peaceful and homely atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean, with fluffy dressing gowns provided, making it feel like a luxurious stay. The memory foam mattresses are incredibly comfortable and ensure a great night's sleep. I was also pleased to find that the bathrooms had recently been refurbished and were in excellent condition. this hotel offers fantastic basic amenities at a very affordable price.

Great location and friendly staff. the hotel is conveniently located near a park and shops, making it easy to explore the area. the staff was welcoming and accommodating during our romantic escape. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast and the comfortable bed that made our stay cozy and enjoyable.

The room was a bit too warm for our liking and the bathroom was not very clean. It would have been better to have had an extra towel, since we had to share one.

We had a warm welcome at Abbey House after a disappointing Air B and B experience. the room with 3 single beds was perfect for us. Although we couldn't find a hairdryer and there was only one pillow, the property was clean and presentable. the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, which made our stay enjoyable. the location was quiet and not too far from amenities like Tesco, McDonald's, and Reading centre. We felt safe with key card access, CCTV, and free parking. Abbey House provided a comfortable night stay after a long day of work in London.

The newly renovated boutique rooms were comfortable and exceeded our expectations for a 3* hotel. The owners, Laurence and his wife, were incredibly hardworking and ensured that the hotel was clean and tidy throughout. The location was quiet and convenient, with parking available and within walking distance of the town centre.

One minor downside was the lack of toiletries in the room, although this may have been an oversight. Additionally, there were some people smoking at the front of the property, which was a bit unpleasant.
