Balcary House is a beautiful hotel run by a welcoming family. The attention to detail is impeccable, and our stay couldn't have been better. The spacious rooms and bathrooms, delicious breakfast, and helpful staff made our experience truly enjoyable. The hotel's great history added to the charm.

We had a great stay at Balcary House in Hawick. The location was perfect for exploring the Borders, and the breakfast in the lovely dining room was excellent. The lounge and bar area had beautiful views of the garden, and we appreciated the ample parking. David and Sue, our hosts, were caring and attentive, taking care of all our needs. The history of the house as a Barnardo's Home was fascinating, and we enjoyed looking at the album in the lounge showcasing pictures from that time. The newly equipped lodges were comfortable, but we would prefer a main house bedroom with a garden view next time. Balcary House served our purposes well, and we would definitely stay again if we visit this part of Scotland.

The location of the hotel is ideal, close to the center of town but incredibly quiet. It's perfect for exploring Hawick in the evening or going for a peaceful walk. This hotel is a hidden gem in a great location. It's tucked away from the main road, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped with all the basic amenities you need. We stayed in a room with a four-poster bed and had a great view of the garden. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The only small issue we had was with the breakfast. While the selection of cereals and yogurts was good, the hot breakfast could have been better.
