We had a fantastic three-night stay at this lovely, very old Inn. The room was huge with a fun wonky floor and the bed was large, warm, and comfortable. The food was excellent pub food and the breakfasts were generous. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the cosy bar/snug created a welcoming atmosphere. Great value for money!

The town itself felt a bit gloomy and rundown, which was reflected in the hotel's appearance. It could use some renovations to update the water system and bathrooms without losing its charm.

We stayed at Cain Valley for a weekend trip to the Lake Vrnwy area. The warm welcome for our family and dog was a great start. The pub food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our large and comfortable room, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast made our stay even better. The historic Jacobean staircase added character to the hotel. A campaign to revert back to its original name, The Goat, would be a fun touch.
