During my stay at Creag Meggan, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room. It was obvious that the proprietors take pride in keeping their establishment in good shape. The bathroom looked fresh and well-maintained, and the en-suite was especially clean. The view from my room was also quite nice, allowing me to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. I appreciated the fact that the power sockets were conveniently placed, making it easy for me to charge my devices. Additionally, the breakfast provided was well-prepared and tasty, giving me a good start to the day.

Although there were a couple of minor drawbacks, such as some noise from the creaking steps and doors, I found these small inconveniences manageable. The thin walls between the rooms did make it a bit difficult to avoid disturbing the neighbors, but it wasn't a major issue for me.

I got great value for my money at Creag Meggan in Ballater. The room was spacious, had amazing views, and provided a peaceful and quiet sleep. The location was convenient for visiting Balmoral Castle and taking walks along the river trail into the charming town. The hosts were lovely, helpful, and made me feel welcome. I enjoyed sitting outside and admiring the beautiful garden.

The only thing that could have made the breakfast selection better would be to have more variety.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The cleanliness was top-notch, with spotless bedrooms and a modern bathroom. The hotel facilities were excellent, including a large well-kept garden where we could relax and enjoy the rural location. Parking was convenient, and the hotel was in a great location on the outskirts of Braemar, perfect for going hiking. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a brief stopover before heading to Edinburgh and our stay at Creag Meggan was exactly what we needed. The hosts, Rob and Alison, were welcoming and kept their wonderful old building in good shape. The room was comfortable with a nice view and well-placed power sockets. The refurbished bathroom was a pleasant surprise. We really appreciated the small fridge provided upon request. The breakfast was well-prepared and tasty. Ample free parking space was available.

The location was perfect, just a short drive away from a bustling town. We were on our way to Edinburgh and this stopover was exactly what we needed. the staff were amazing - a lovely family-run business who were really friendly and accommodating, even to our furry friend. the breakfast options were great, with a choice of a fry up or continental, and we could pre-select our preference the night before.

That the entrance to the building was a bit confusing as there was no signage from the car park. We had to ring the doorbell and felt like we were inconveniencing the owner.

Lovely welcome, dark and quiet room, great shower, good heating, delicious breakfast, fantastic view. Direct access to walking trails, nearby cafes, friendly and helpful hosts. Basic but sufficient room with necessary amenities. Peaceful and pleasant location. Outdoor seating area.
