At Durness Youth Hostel, we found the location to be ideal for exploring the beautiful Smoo caves just a short distance away. Despite the small town being quite windy, the hostel provided a comfortable and clean accommodation option for our trip. The beds were surprisingly comfy and the facilities, although basic, met our needs. We also appreciated the helpfulness of the staff. we would recommend this youth hostel for budget travelers seeking a convenient base for their adventures.

We had a fantastic stay at the hostel in Durness. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable. The bedrooms are divided into smaller compartments, which provided just enough privacy. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, allowing us to have a great night's sleep. The communal facilities, including the kitchen, were well-maintained, and there was even space to hang our wet clothes. Additionally, the hostel's location next to Smoo Cave was a pleasant surprise, with a short walk to explore this natural wonder. we highly recommend this hostel, especially for youth travelers looking for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

I had a fantastic holiday here. The location is excellent, just a few minutes away from breathtaking cliffs and beautiful beaches. The hostel itself may not look attractive from the outside, but the inside is warm, cosy, and clean. The staff, especially Matt and Em, were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, with comfortable bunkbeds and useful chairs. The kitchen was well-equipped and the dining space and lounge were spacious. The warden was welcoming and gave great advice on places to eat and storing bikes. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, parking, location, and staff were top-notch.

We verbleven in een comfortabele en betaalbare accommodatie. De locatie was geweldig, dicht bij het stadscentrum. We vonden het gemakkelijk omdat het adres in de beschrijving stond. De aardige dame bij de receptie bood continu koffie of thee aan, zorgde voor een warme douche, bood een föhn aan en informeerde regelmatig of we nog iets nodig hadden. De kamer was klein maar erg comfortabel en warm voor twee personen. De keuken, badkamer en toiletten waren erg schoon. We hadden een knus tweepersoonsbed, handdoeken, wegwerp slippers en een sleutel voor de kamer. Voor een goedkope accommodatie voelde het luxe aan voor ons. We raden het zeker aan voor backpackers en individuele reizigers op zoek naar een eenpersoonskamer.

Het personeel bij de receptie was onbeleefd en sprak geen Engels. Ze wilde ons meer geld in rekening brengen per persoon dan in de reservering stond.

youth exceeded my expectations during this special occasion with its warm, cosy and clean interior, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and comfy bunkbeds, well-equipped kitchen, and convenient parking. it was a perfect stay for my family.

We had a comfortable stay in a clean family room. The bedding and towels were of good quality and we enjoyed a great night's sleep. The lounge and dining areas were cosy, and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the option to buy wine and beer. The friendly wardens and fellow travelers made for enjoyable conversations. Despite arriving early, we were allowed to park on site and received helpful advice for exploring the area.

Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

I felt like I got great value for my money at this Youth hostel. The room was cozy and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. The location was perfect for my North Coast 500 trip, with convenient access to beautiful beaches and stunning cliffs. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay.

The breakfast menu could use a little improvement to have more variety.
