The guest house had a fantastic location, perfect for exploring the surrounding area. the cleanliness was impeccable, and the room was equipped with everything we needed.

Although we had a great stay overall, the steep hill up to the guest house was a bit of an inconvenience, particularly after a long day of exploring.

From start to finish everything went like clockwork and was so organised. We said it was cleaner and more welcoming than any 5star hotel. the bed was really comfortable with an extra blanket for those who feel cold in the cupboard. Breakfasts are huge so we didn’t eat all day! the owner was very knowledgeable and helpful regarding walks and places to go as well. Nothing is too much trouble either including a mini fridge and fan in the room, which was so welcome in this hot weather. And the daily slice of cake and fresh milk for our room if we wanted it were a great surprise too. All in all a great stay.

I had an absolutely delightful stay in this beautiful guest house nestled in the heart of the Lake District. The location is perfect, with stunning views of Skiddaw and easy access to the charming village of Braithwaite. I loved the cozy and well-furnished rooms, especially the comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided excellent local information. The breakfast was delicious, served in the comfortable sitting rooms downstairs. Plus, the nearby local pubs were just a stone's throw away.

The parking arrangements could have been better.

I had a fantastic stay at a guest house in Keswick. The rooms were superbly furnished and the bed was super comfy. Waking up to the stunning view of Skiddaw was an absolute joy. The bathroom was lovely and the whole place felt very welcoming. The hosts, Emma and Mark, were wonderful and provided great local information. The breakfast was delicious and served in comfortable sitting rooms. They also offered fantastic cakes and hot drinks throughout the day, which added to the relaxed and homely atmosphere. The location of the guest house was perfect, situated in a picturesque setting in a quiet village with a good pub, and it was conveniently on the local bus route. Moreover, it was located on the western shore of Derwent Water, providing easy access to beautiful walks and activities.

the view from our room was spectacular and the host, Emma, was incredibly sweet and helpful. the family suite was perfect for us with two separate rooms connected by a landing. the room and bathroom were connected, which was convenient. There were also small treats and tea service in the room. the parlor was a great area to relax in, and we enjoyed the fresh cakes that our host made. the location was also great for accessing different parts of the Lake District. I had a fantastic experience at Fern Howe Guest House and would definitely stay there again.
