It was a tall, characterful Victorian house, so there was no lift. However, the exercise of going up and down the stairs was good for you.

Our stay at Ferndene Guest House was wonderful. The room was cozy and had everything we needed for a short stay. The provided tea, coffee, and biscuits were a nice touch and were replenished daily. Despite the small size of the room, it had all the necessary amenities, although some furniture could use an update.

The location was perfect, with pubs, restaurants, and shops right at our doorstep. We enjoyed taking scenic walks in the area, immersing ourselves in the beautiful surroundings.

There were some minor issues during our stay. The bathroom door handle and hand towel rail in the Annex were a bit squeaky and could use some WD40.

What an enjoyable stay during the Easter long weekend! The hosts were welcoming and the rooms were immaculate, with comfortable beds that made sleeping in difficult. Breakfasts were delectable, especially the local sausages and bacon that we savoured every day. The location was also a plus, being in close proximity to the town centre with its numerous shops and restaurants. it was just a stone's throw away from the theatre by the lake for those who enjoy a night out.

Honestly, there was nothing negative to say about our stay. Perhaps the only minor thing was that the curtains in our room could have been thicker to keep out more light during the early mornings.
