Nothing it is perfect.

the location is great for walkers, with stunning scenery all around. On arrival, I enjoyed a pint in the sunshine from the bar. the room was nice and I had a comfortable stay. Although I didn't eat here, the menu looked nice, but a bit pricey. There are limited options for food in the village and all restaurants close by 9pm.

The hotel is situated in a really lovely, friendly village, near beautiful attractions like High Force, Low Force, and Summerhill Force with Gibson's Cave. The rooms were functional and clean, with excellent showers and provided toiletries. The staff were sociable, helpful, and provided excellent service. Although there was no breakfast, a nearby café offered a great value breakfast option. the location and amenities were great for exploring the area.

Our stay was marred by the noise from the bar below. The rooms directly above the bar had loud music, which was disruptive and made it difficult to relax.

The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, spacious, and had a comfortable king-sized bed. The bathroom was modern and had a deep bathtub and a rain shower, perfect for relaxing after a long day of work. The hotel provided good quality toiletries and there was plenty of hot water. Additionally, we loved the fresh milk in the room for our tea and the biscotti provided as a snack.

Our room had a stale smoke smell and there was noise from darts being played below until late at night. This affected our sleep and made it difficult for me as an asthmatic.

Had a lovely stay at a charming hotel in a picturesque village. The room was clean and comfortable, and the added touch of homemade chocolates with the bill was delightful. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Enjoyed a delicious French meal at the restaurant. Despite a few minor drawbacks, overall I would recommend this hotel.

Nothing to complain about at all.

The pea soup was absolutely delicious and the soft-centered egg with crispy shell was perfection. My husband enjoyed his Toulouse sausages and thought the vegetables were cooked nicely too. the triple fried chips were a hit. the bathroom in our room was nice and the bed was comfy. the ensuite bathroom on the upper floor was spacious and had a Velux skylight. the room had a kettle and tea/coffee facilities. We were given keys to the front door, allowing us to come and go as we pleased.

The bar area was very noisy, especially above the jukebox. There was a group of unruly youths causing a disturbance in the bar and front garden.

The food was absolutely amazing, with perfectly cooked dishes and creative presentations. the combinations of flavors were unusual but worked beautifully together. the staff were excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. the location was stunning, situated in a lovely and friendly village. the restaurant also accommodated our group of seven brilliantly.

There were two lovely cafes in the village that served delicious breakfasts. We also experienced some noisy and aggressive shouting outside the bar on two nights, which was disruptive.

I recently stayed at the charming Forresters in Middleton in Teesdale for a weekend getaway. The staff were incredibly accommodating and always eager to assist with any requests. The highlight of my stay was the delicious meal at the French restaurant - it was simply outstanding! The hotel is located in a picturesque village, making it a perfect base to explore nearby attractions like High Force. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff went above and beyond to ensure I had my desired gin flavor for the following night. The serene ambiance and friendly atmosphere make this a place I will definitely visit again.
