Excellent food, friendly helpful staff, stored bikes, close to Granite Way, nice hotel/pub, good value.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The location of the hotel was perfect for a peaceful Christmas getaway. the beautiful countryside surroundings provided plenty of opportunities for scenic walks and exploration. the hotel offered a great selection of delicious food for both breakfast and dinner. the meals were a highlight of our stay and we thoroughly enjoyed indulging in the local cuisine.

The heating in the room was not sufficient to keep us warm during the chilly winter nights. We had requested the heating to be turned on, but the room remained cold.

Stayed at a charming family-run pub with comfortable rooms above. the staff were exceptionally friendly and the owner provided great personal service. the highlight was the delicious full-English breakfast. Loved the atmosphere in the bar area, especially mingling with the locals. a welcoming and enjoyable experience.

My recent stay at the Fox & Hounds was simply exceptional. The charming pub, located on the edge of Dartmoor, offers clean and comfortable rooms. The highlight of my stay was the incredible food, both for supper and breakfast. But what truly made my experience unforgettable was the warmth and friendliness of the hosts. I genuinely hope to have the opportunity to stay at this beautiful little pub again. I highly recommend it.

The hotel is also conveniently located for exploring the beautiful surroundings, such as Lydford Gorge and Meldon Reservoir. it was a wonderful experience with great food, friendly staff, and a perfect location for outdoor activities.

During our 4-night stay at this cozy pub, we enjoyed its convenient location near the Granite Way cycle path, which allowed us to explore the stunning Dartmoor National Park and the beautiful coast. The room was comfortable, with large beds and a clean bathroom. The friendly staff provided excellent service and the breakfast was delicious. The restaurant served amazing food, and we especially loved the sticky toffee pudding.

The Wi-Fi connection in the hotel was quite weak, making it difficult to stay connected at times.

The value for money at this place is excellent, and the room was cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect, and the staff treated us like royalty.

The breakfast could be improved with a wider selection of pastries.

I recently stayed at the Fox & Hounds in Lydford for a few days and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was beautiful and immaculately clean. The included breakfast was extensive and delicious, setting me up for the day. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the nearby moor and Lydford Gorge, as well as being close to the Granite Way. I even appreciated the extra service of them calling a taxi for me when the bus didn't show up. a fantastic stay!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The best aspects were the excellent room for the price, tasty home-cooked food using local ingredients, and the ability to play skittles after dinner. We also enjoyed the lovely walk to the moor and appreciated the campsite option. The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was delicious.
