We recently stayed at a 4-star hotel in Balloch and had a wonderful experience. The location was ideal for us as we were only passing through for a night. This place was perfect - a short walk from the railway station, the bus station, the park, and the loch. The service was excellent, with the staff being lovely and very accommodating. They even fixed a last-minute train cancellation by providing us with hot tea and cookies upon our late arrival. The hotel had a leisure/TV room with Wi-Fi, which was great for relaxing and catching up on some shows. The amenities in the room, such as the free toiletries, flat-screen TV, and ironing facilities, were all top-notch. We also appreciated the dining options, with a choice for special diet menus and the convenience of ordering our breakfast the night before using the breakfast order and choice cards. we were highly impressed with this hotel's comfort, services, and friendly atmosphere.

We had the most fabulous short stay at a guest house in a beautiful location near a park. The host, Andrea, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early for a wedding. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious, with local and fresh produce. We couldn't eat everything on offer! Though there were a few minor drawbacks like a slightly uncomfortable bed and noise from a nearby pub, overall I highly recommend this guest house experience.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location on the southern shore of Loch Lomond was absolutely stunning. We were able to enjoy the beautiful views and take relaxing walks along the waterfront. The service was top-notch, with staff who were friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The room amenities were excellent, including ironing facilities and tea/coffee making facilities. The room itself was clean, spacious, and well-furnished, providing a luxurious and comfortable stay.

We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere at Gowanlea. The attention to detail in the beautifully decorated and well-maintained house was impressive. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed. But the highlight was definitely the delicious breakfast, especially the perfectly cooked salmon and scrambled eggs. our stay was fantastic and we would highly recommend this B&B for a memorable experience.

Great value for our money, with a spotless and comfy room. The location was convenient and perfect for walking our dog. The staff at Gowanlea Guest House were welcoming, making us feel right at home.

The breakfast menu could have used a bit more variety.

The location of this guest house is fantastic! It is not far from the train station, making it easy to access. Plus, it is really close to the town centre, so you have plenty of options for shops and restaurants. Additionally, there is a beautiful park nearby where you can take amazing walks and enjoy the scenery.

The size of the bathroom was a bit disappointing.

As a light sleeper, I really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and quiet surroundings. I had a great night's sleep.

Excellent stay with great breakfast and friendly staff. the location was perfect, just a short walk to a beautiful castle and ferry stop. the rooms were immaculately clean and the breakfast was amazing, with lots of locally sourced options. Another great aspect was the large, comfortable room which was perfect after a day of exploring.

The bathroom was very small and the sink didn't work quite well. the heating turned off for a few hours at night and it got a bit chilly in the room.

And to top it off, we were treated to a delightful dessert of French toasts drizzled with warm honey. The attention to detail in the decoration and the excellent service made for a truly enjoyable stay.

I felt incredibly lucky to have found this guest house and had absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
