The Lady of the House Donna MacRae and Chef Earl Aggrey treat their guests like royalty. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to our room with speed that rivalled a Formula 1 pit stop. Not to mention, the dinner served was so delicious that it made other meals seem as bland as unseasoned porridge.

Located in the picturesque North Lakes area, Hazel Bank Country House offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views of the fells in the background and the river below. The rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms and spotlessly clean. The attentive and friendly service provided by the hosts creates a welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious, and the set menus for dinner are exceptional, with locally sourced ingredients cooked to perfection. Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the peaceful gardens, where red squirrels can be spotted.

This hotel fulfilled all our luxurious needs. the exclusive amenities in our room surpassed our expectations, including the delicious homemade biscuits and toiletries. the Delicious breakfast was the perfect start to our day. the Garden area was a peaceful oasis to relax in. the team's service was impeccable, going above and beyond to assist us.

The only minor issue was the limited seating in the Bar/Lounge area, which was always busy during the evening. Nonetheless, the atmosphere was still inviting and enjoyable.

Lovely country house with beautiful surroundings. the staff was welcoming and friendly. Great food with locally sourced ingredients, and the breakfast options were fantastic. the rooms were well-equipped with comfortable beds and lovely toiletries. There were also complimentary beverages available in the room.

The location was a bit out of the way, so it took some time to get there. some of the rooms had less-than-ideal views from the windows, but this was not a major issue overall.

We had an amazing stay at this small and friendly hotel in the Borrowdale Valley. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like family. the hotel is impeccably clean and the beds are so comfortable, with exceptional quality bed linen and towels. the food and drink options were out of this world, and the prices were very reasonable. Our room was beautifully furnished and the en suite bathroom was modern and well-equipped. We especially loved the long bath. the lounge area had stunning views and provided a perfect place to relax. the staff and owners were friendly, hospitable, and professional throughout our stay. the hotel is situated in a picturesque location with walks right from the doorstep. it was a truly enjoyable experience and we can't wait to visit again.
