The location of the hotel is perfect, as it is situated in the centre of beautiful Whitby. It is just a short walk away from the town centre and all of its attractions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with lovely big windows that let in lots of light. The bathroom is modern and spotlessly clean, with soft bath towels and bath robes provided. The service at the hotel is exceptional, with the hosts being very inviting, friendly, and attentive. The breakfast in the stunning dining room is delicious, with plenty to choose from.

The tea and coffee facilities in the room were not very practical, as there was no electric socket near the coffee table, making it difficult to make a cup of tea or coffee.

I had the most amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in my own luxury retreat. The staff, Jonathan and Louise, were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The breakfast that was served in bed was simply divine. I couldn't believe the variety of delicious options, from bacon baps to a wide selection of yoghurts and juices. It truly exceeded my expectations!

The hotel's location was perfect for Christmas festivities, only a couple of minutes away from the lively harbour, which was beautifully decorated with twinkling lights. the breakfast buffet was well presented, and there were plenty of options to choose from, including fresh fruit and pastries. Plus, the room we stayed in had a comfortable mattress and clean linen.

The heating system was outdated, and the room was very cold, which made sleeping challenging. the staff didn't seem to care much about our temperature complaints, even after we asked for an extra blanket.

I would highly recommend Highgate House Bed & Breakfast for anyone looking for a luxurious and enjoyable mini break.
