We had a lovely stay at Holbeck Ghyll Country House and enjoyed the fabulous view from our Contemporary Junior Suite. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making our partner's birthday celebration special. The Beatrix Potter Suite, where we were upgraded, was beautiful and worth the extra money. The location of the hotel is fantastic, allowing us to experience the magic of the lakes. we had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel for a special occasion.

The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive and friendly. the views of the lake were breathtaking.

The lack of a "do not disturb" sign resulted in the cleaner coming into our room while we were at breakfast. the spa was small and the "relaxation room" was not inviting.

During our Christmas stay, we were pleased with a few aspects of the hotel. the breakfast selection was good and offered a satisfying start to the day. the location of the hotel was key, with stunning views that added to the overall experience. we found the social rooms in the hotel to be comfortable and welcoming, providing a cozy atmosphere for relaxation.

Dislikes/Worst: However, there were a couple of aspects that we were not particularly satisfied with.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome. They even gave us a free upgrade to a lovely room with amazing views across the lake and fells. The private patio and garden were a nice touch. We were also delighted to receive a complimentary bottle of locally brewed damson gin. The breakfast was delicious, with a gorgeous full English breakfast delivered right to our room. We also had the pleasure of eating lunch in the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, where the food was to die for. The wine selection was excellent as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel as one of the best in the area.

The lake view from my window seat was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is located on a hill overlooking the magnificent Lake Windermere, providing a picturesque setting. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making me feel well looked after without being overly intrusive. The hotel facilities were great, and the original fittings and furniture in the beautiful Arts & Crafts building added to its charm. The hotel's cleanliness impressed me, as everything was spotlessly clean. Additionally, the breakfast options were delicious and the service was prompt. this hotel was perfect for me in every way.

I recently had a lovely getaway to a stunning hotel nestled in the beautiful Lake District. The hotel, with its breathtaking views, instantly stole my heart. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by the friendly staff.

Although there were a few minor inconveniences, like a slow room service due to limited staff and a dated lodge, they were easily overshadowed by the hotel's many positive aspects. The mesmerizing view and the warm, friendly staff made up for any shortcomings.

The bed in the room was extremely comfortable, the comfiest I have ever slept in. The breakfast served at the hotel was exceptional, adding to the overall positive experience.

The hotel also offers a small spa with outdoor hot tub, sauna, and solarium for a relaxing experience. The hotel grounds allow easy access to scenic walks in the area.

The gardens and tennis court are in need of attention and repair.
