The room was great, comfortable bed, superb location. Accommodating staff & good service. Nice restaurant/bar with stunning hilltop view.

Not one thing.

The rooms were recently refurbished to a high standard and offered excellent value. They were always clean, well-stocked, and had beautiful views. the continental breakfast had a wide variety of options, including 12 different cereals and croissants. the cooked breakfast was also a highlight, with generous portions. the staff, especially Grace, were friendly and welcoming.

While the wash provided in the bathroom was not ideal, it is best to bring your own soap. the cold water was also a bit tepid.

Had a Christmas stay here and enjoyed the festive vibe. the food in the pub was spot on, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. the location was perfect for a wander around the countryside, and we were pleased with the cleanliness of the room.

The noise from the creaky floorboards kept us up at night, and we could hear loud footsteps from other guests in nearby rooms. the bed was also quite uncomfortable, which made for a restless night's sleep.

The hotel is located in a picturesque area surrounded by stunning cliffs and is just a short distance from the center of town. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and equipped with plenty of plug sockets and USB ports. Guests have praised the comfortable bed and high-quality bed linen. The continental breakfast is included and there are various options available for an additional cost. The staff provides warm and friendly service, ensuring guests feel welcome and well taken care of.

The towels in some of the bathrooms may be in need of replacement.

We stayed at a hotel that wasn't in the center of town, but getting a taxi was cheap and easy. The location was on the outskirts of a fabulous town, perfect for exploring the surrounding area. The room we had was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was well supplied. The staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was of a very good quality. We also enjoyed sitting in the beer garden on a warm summer evening and having a drink in the downstairs pub too.

The noise from the kitchen's huge extractor in our room was quite disruptive, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

The Cow & Calf is a remote hotel with beautiful and clean rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and dinner at the restaurant are excellent. The hotel has modern room decor and a cozy dining experience in front of a roaring fire. The views from the property are spectacular.

I recently had a wonderful stay at a charming hotel located on top of a steep hill overlooking a beautiful town. The hotel's location was perfect as it was close enough to easily reach the town by cab. The staff were exceptional and made our stay truly enjoyable, providing excellent service and attention to detail. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a lovely view of the surroundings. The breakfast options were fantastic, with a choice between a very good continental or a cooked breakfast for a little extra. the hotel provided great value for money and I would highly recommend it to others.

All in all, everything was ok and I had a great stay.

As a backpacker, I loved the clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of space. The freshly cooked breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

I had a wonderful stay at The Cow & Calf. The hotel exuded character and charm, with amazing decor and cleanliness throughout. The menu offered a fabulous selection of real ales and the food was absolutely first class. The hotel's location was perfect, with stunning walks over the moors just steps away. I highly recommend this hotel for a delightful experience.
