kirkconnel hall exceeded our expectations during this birthday celebration! the lovely old building, filled with antiques and quirky things, was well cared for and freshly decorated. the staff were lovely, the room was comfortable and clean, and the continental breakfast was delicious!

No shampoo or conditioner in bathroom.

The cabin accommodation was perfect for us and our rather boisterous dogs. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We loved the charming and interesting decor in the main house. the hotel's location was ideal for breaking our journey from Essex to the West of Scotland.

We were overwhelmed by the number of dogs staying overnight with other guests. It made the hotel quite noisy and we had to sleep with earplugs.

We had a fantastic stopover at Kirkconnel Hall. Our journey from NE Scotland to Derbyshire was made so much more enjoyable by staying at this unique and historic hotel. The owners, John and Babs, have lovingly restored the hall with beautiful antiques and artifacts, creating a treasure trove of history. The bedroom was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the motorway and train line. Breakfast in the stunning dining room was delicious, served by the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Exceptional value for money and a truly unforgettable experience.

We enjoyed the beautiful building and the fact that it is a family-run establishment. We can't wait to return!

They were very accommodating to our little dog and their dog became friends with ours. The location was also great, close to the M74 but surprisingly close to the railway line. The delicious food in the restaurant exceeded my expectations, although I did find the menu focused heavily on deep-fried dishes. While the location may not be ideal, sandwiched between the motorway and a railway line, I found it convenient for my travels. Although the hotel is currently unable to offer food due to staff shortages, the nearby town of Ecclefechan provided a good alternative. I highly recommend this hotel for its quirkiness and warm hospitality.

As bike riders, we appreciated the large rooms and the hotel's convenient location near the motorway. The comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep after a long day of cycling.
