The hotel is spotlessly clean with lovely decor, but the recent changes have stripped away its charm and character. While the food is excellent, the lengthy wait between courses dampens the dining experience. the staff are attentive, and the breakfast is always superb. The building itself has a nice old-fashioned appeal, but certain rooms and common areas need attention to detail and warmth.

Just had a fantastic stay at Loftsome Bridge Hotel for 3 nights. The location is beautiful, right by the river Derwent with a pond and geese outside our window. The room was clean and well presented, with a separate lounge area and TVs in both rooms. The staff made us feel safe and secure, and the meal was delicious. The breakfast choices were excellent, with a nice variety to choose from. Plenty of parking space and a quiet, peaceful environment.

Although the overall experience was good, there were some downsides. the lounge and dining room needed more character, as they were a bit soulless.
