The location of this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, reached by a treacherous road through Fettercairn. There are plenty of lovely B & Bs and 3/4 * hotels for much less money, better service, and better locations.

The room was not very comfortable and lacked amenities that other hotels offer.

The database room at Macbeth Arms was spacious, well-designed, and had a large bathroom with a shower over a bath. The friendly staff offered to lower the music from the pub downstairs, but it wasn't necessary as it turned off early. The locals were welcoming and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended for families with kids.

Prices were very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. the historical information provided added to the experience, and the friendliness of the staff was a big plus. the location offers easy access to local sites. the breakfast was adequate and innovative.

The entrance could have been more inviting, and the dining area window needed cleaning. A microwave would have been a handy addition and would save trips to nearby restaurants.

I recently stayed at the charming Macbeth Arms in Lumphanan for a short visit. Despite initial concerns about noise being above a bar, it was surprisingly quiet. The room was above hotel standards and exceeded my expectations. The lovely owner and staff provided exceptional service, and my daughter adored the adorable Chihuahuas. Value, comfort, and cleanliness were outstanding, and the recent upgrades made the accommodation even better.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
