I had the most amazing stay at this hotel! The location could not have been better, just a short walk from Holyrood Park and the bus stop. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff were incredibly friendly and gave me great recommendations for exploring the city. The room itself was modern, clean, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

The Scholar is a fantastic hotel with great value for money. The 18th-century building is beautifully decorated and the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the university and surrounded by lovely gardens. The restaurant serves outstanding food, making it a truly enjoyable stay.

I had a fantastic stay at a hotel near the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. The reception staff were welcoming and even though we arrived early, they allowed us to leave our bags and explore the city. The bus service at the hotel was convenient, with bus numbers 14, 30, and 33 taking us to and from North Bridge in just a few minutes. The breakfast included in our package was delicious, and I even had the chance to try haggis for the first time. Despite some reviews mentioning noise issues, I found the room to be cozy and perfect for our needs. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. On the last day, we had to leave early, and the hotel provided us with a breakfast bag, a convenient touch. The taxi service recommended by the hotel was reliable and reasonably priced. I had a comfortable and enjoyable experience at this hotel, and I would definitely recommend it for those looking for a convenient and pleasant stay.

Good breakfast and restaurant for evening meal. Convenient location near conference center and possible to walk to town. Buses nearby. Cleanliness was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Noise carries easily from neighboring rooms. Limited space between chair and bed, making it difficult to get past.

The room was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities, including free Wi-Fi and a powerful shower. The dining options were great, with a restaurant and bar/lounge area, and the buffet breakfast was delicious.

scholar was a delightful surprise with spacious rooms, largest bath towels, and top-notch customer service. the staff went above and beyond, accommodating my vegan diet and assisting with luggage. conveniently located with easy bus connections to the city center. a peaceful haven for work or relaxation. highly recommended.

Here was great! The location on what seems to be part of a university campus was perfect for me, as it was within walking distance of the City centre and there was a bus stop nearby for activities the next day. Room service, bike hire, housekeeping, laundry and room amenities like ironing facilities, in-room safe. Also, the free Wi-Fi in the rooms was reliable and essential. The television, AM/FM alarm clock and telephone were of excellent quality. A nice touch was the carpeted floor. I especially enjoyed the excellent restaurant dining and buffet breakfast. The bar/lounge area was also a lovely space.

Just a quick note to let you know I recommend this venue to family and friends. The manager's attitude when trying to claim a refund on a breakfast box we missed owing to the missing receptionist at the reception desk was not great.

We really got great value for our money at this hotel. The room was clean and cosy, and the staff were exceptional - super friendly and helpful! The location was perfect, a 25-minute walk into the city centre, which was enjoyable as we explored along the way.

The breakfast selection could be improved with some complimentary biscuits to enjoy with the tea and coffee.
