The room was clean, comfy, and had a gorgeous view. The location was perfect for exploring the island, with beautiful scenery and birdlife right outside. The staff treated me like family, from printing my boarding passes to offering me a cup of tea in the lounge. They even gave me a ride to my next accommodation to save on taxi fare. Truly amazing!

The only small thing that could make the breakfast even better would be to have a wider menu with more options to choose from.

I could sit in the bar-stools and small tables overlooking the Loch for hours, taking in the serene scenery and birdlife. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the rooms were so cozy and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The breakfast was out of this world! The quality and taste of the food were exceptional, and the service was top-notch. Additionally, the hotel's convenient location made it easy for me to explore the nearby attractions, such as Skara Brae and the charming city of Kirkwall.

We had a fantastic stay at this charming hotel on the beautiful Harray loch. The room was lovely with a great view and very spacious. The hotel facilities were excellent, including a bar and restaurant with delicious breakfasts. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making us feel very welcome. We also loved the location, close to Skara Brae and the island of Hoy, making it the perfect base for exploring the area.

My partner and I stayed at Merkister for 3 nights in November to explore Orkney. The large room with a lake view was so comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the fresh seafood, especially the marinated herring and scallops. Visiting in the off season, it was a relief to have dinner at the hotel as many restaurants were closed. The hot chocolate and homemade shortbread in the warm room after a stormy day was a treat.
