We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were amazing - very friendly and chatty. They provided a warm welcome and were completely on the ball with everything. The hotel facilities were excellent, including a comfortable lounge with a selection of games. We also loved the fact that they had a book at reception to leave descriptions of walking routes and expected return times. Additionally, the location was superb and the midweek price was really good.

Comfortable old world charm, helpful staff, nice breakfast and dinner service. Good bar meals and local ale. Would stay again if visiting.

Recently stayed at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel for a few nights and it was a fantastic experience. The location of the hotel in a lovely building with easy access to nearby walks was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The manager ensured everything was taken care of, even finding us a spot for dinner when we forgot to book. The room was spacious, the parking was free, and the barman was attentive despite the lack of staff. a great value for money and highly recommended.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem during a spontaneous trip to the lakes. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, the hotel offers a classic country retreat experience. Our room in the annex was small but immaculately maintained, with a spacious bathroom. The friendly staff provided excellent service, and the cooked-to-order breakfast was delicious. The hotel also has a sizable pub and beautiful gardens to relax in. It surpassed all our expectations.

There were some minor issues with housekeeping and delays in the pub kitchen during mealtimes.
