The hotel had excellent facilities, including a well-stocked bar and a separate entrance for some rooms. The location was perfect for touring Hadrian's Wall, with easy access to both directions. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making me feel comfortable and welcome from the moment I arrived. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of choices.

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Lion Inn. the room was fantastic, equipped with everything we needed, including an iron board and coffee machine. the bed was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. the Wi-Fi worked well, which was a plus. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant, with generous portion sizes. the location was perfect, being close to Vindolanda and the Hadrian's Wall path.

I had a great stay at the Red Lion Inn for my birthday weekend getaway. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed and shown to Room 6. The room was incredibly clean and spacious, with a unique stone wall and fireplace. The dual aspect windows brought in plenty of natural light. The large bed and luxurious bedding made for a comfortable stay, and the en-suite bathroom with a shower was spotless. The highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast served both mornings. The full English breakfast was cooked to perfection and full of flavor, with excellent sausages and bacon. The spread of cereals, yogurts, and fruits was a lovely touch. On Saturday night, I enjoyed a scrumptious evening meal. The potato skins starter was delightful, and my main course, the chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon, was absolutely fantastic. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her steak & ale pie as well. The portions were generous, and the fresh vegetables complemented the dishes perfectly. Throughout my stay, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly praise the Red Lion Inn for providing a wonderful experience that was worth every penny. Thank you, Andy and Sue. Regrettably, our stay was not entirely flawless. the Wi-Fi was weak and spotty, making it difficult to stream movies and TV series.

The location of this inn is perfect for exploring Hexham and the surrounding area. Within minutes of my first call of the day, I was able to enjoy the beautiful countryside and peaceful atmosphere. The noise from the locals outside the pub and on pub tables across the road was disruptive and made it difficult to sleep.
