We had a wonderful stay at a homely and cultured house with superb views. The breakfast at Shallowdale House was outstanding, consistently of very high quality and absolutely delicious. Philip and Anton, the charming hosts, were extremely helpful and provided great recommendations for restaurants in the area. After a long day of walking, they surprised us with a splendid tea and brownies, which were to die for with stem ginger. The spacious bedroom and beautiful garden added to the overall experience, making us feel very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay.

Beautiful view, delicious breakfast, helpful hosts, huge and clean rooms. Great cakes made by Anton. Extensive knowledge of the area. Lovely garden and spacious house. Several good pub/restaurants nearby. a wonderful stay in North Yorkshire.
