This hotel is a hidden gem in the west Lake District! Located in a spectacularly beautiful area, it offers breathtaking walks right from its doorstep. The rooms are well-equipped, with good facilities and a roomy shower cubicle. The breakfast is simply amazing, with superb locally sourced ingredients.

The breakfast is outstanding, with superb locally sourced ingredients and massive portions at the pub.

The location is perfect, especially for those planning to climb Scafell Pike. The locally brewed beer was delicious, and the pub grub was just what we needed after a long day of hiking. The staff were friendly and provided great service throughout our stay.

The full English breakfast was hearty and they even offered a vegan option. The hotel is a great base for exploring the nearby hills and the locals added to the lively ambiance at the bar.

I recently stayed at a charming hotel in the beautiful Lake District for a few nights. The highlight was definitely the on-site brewery that produced some of the best beers I've ever tasted, including a hard-to-find barley wine. The meals were delicious, the room was comfortable, and the staff and customers were friendly. The location was also perfect, with close proximity to Skafell Pike and good WiFi.

Welcoming village, safe distancing measures, microbrewery with 6 real ales, lovely walk to Waswater, generous meal portions, great pub food.
