Fantastic location with lovely views, perfect for nature enthusiasts. Dog-friendly, with great walks along the beach and river. Homely atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast.

Felt very much at home, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a great stay at Anchor Hotel! the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. the food was excellent, especially the dishes on the daily board. the location is quiet and perfect for evening walks along the shore. the room was comfortable and we enjoyed the beautiful views from our window. we had a fantastic, relaxing night away.

Located on the beautiful River Urr estuary, this quaint hotel offers stunning views right on the seafront. The setting is truly picturesque, with walks along the river and coastline perfect for dog owners. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with proper cotton sheets and quite comfy beds. The staff go out of their way to create a relaxed atmosphere and provide excellent service. The breakfast options are delicious and the restaurant offers a lovely view of the evening light.

The rooms could do with an update as they felt a bit dated. the walls were thin, so it could get noisy at times.

Traditional pub atmosphere with friendly locals, generous breakfasts featuring haggis, and a varied menu for dinner. Welcoming and helpful staff who are always available. Beautiful views of the estuary in a peaceful village, ideal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

had a magical christmas party at anchor, even better than last time in kippford. staff were friendly & welcoming, room clean & comfy. the food was exceptional & the views over the sea were stunning. anchor exceeded all expectations, can't wait to return!

There was nothing I didn't like.

The hotel is located right on the sea front, offering stunning views of the estuary and surrounding areas. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with excellent views. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The food is superb, with a great choice of beers available in the pub itself. The breakfasts are also highly recommended.

The limitations of access to the hotel for guests with mobility issues can be improved.
