We stumbled upon this charming pub during our weekend getaway. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, and the room we stayed in was lovely. The spacious bathroom had fluffy towels and luxury toiletries. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in the garden, surrounded by beautiful surroundings. Plus, the location was perfect, with a pub just in front and the convenience of the train station nearby, making it easy for one of us to be picked up. We also couldn't resist the delicious food served in the restaurant. It was an outstanding experience in every way.

We had a fantastic weekend getaway at this charming inn. The location was perfect, with beautiful surroundings in the garden and easy access to the nearby train station. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a cozy bed and a well-appointed bathroom. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our stay. Although we were disappointed by the dinner options in the restaurant, the breakfast was absolutely amazing. The inn also had great amenities, including a well-stocked bar and a lovely wine selection. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at The Anchor Inn. We were there for 2 days as part of our summer holiday. The staff, especially Lucy at reception, were kind and helpful. The inn itself is a charming old building with authentic character. The room was spacious and quirky, and the bathroom was fantastic. We loved the lovely setting, waking up to the sounds of birds, and the tranquil sleep with the bay windows open to the country fields. The food and drink were delicious, and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I had a delightful stay at a charming coaching inn. The room was cosy and well-equipped with a coffee maker and tea facilities. The en suite had a great shower and lovely toiletries. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the pub/restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere. The breakfast, cooked to order, was delicious, with options for those with gluten intolerance. a great place to relax and unwind. I will definitely be recommending it to others.

Quaint and relaxing inn with beautiful decor and quirky touches. the Wilfred Owen double room was lovely, with excellent amenities like a cafetière, homemade biscuits, and real milk in the fridge. the bathroom was spotlessly clean with a great shower. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. I also enjoyed the convenience of having electric car charging available on-site, which was a great bonus for my business trip.

The room could use a proper deep clean, as there was grime and dirt in the corners and on the radiators. Some maintenance issues were also present, such as a dripping hot tap and cracked plaster.

Spent Christmas here and really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, hot meals served on time and the friendly staff. the Christmas decorations added a special sparkle to the place and the live music played during the meals provided a delightful ambiance. the rooms were well-sized and contained all the necessary amenities, while the location made it easy to take relaxing walks around the beautiful countryside.

The low beamed ceilings throughout the property posed a significant challenge, especially for taller guests. the noise levels also tended to be a bit high, with sounds from neighbouring rooms and from the streets easily audible.

The value for money at the Anchor Inn was excellent, and our room exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and amenities. The peaceful and rural location added to the charm, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and engaging.
