The location of the hotel was fantastic, situated in the heart of a charming village with plenty of opportunities for walks and exploring. the interior of the hotel was stunning, with beautiful decor in both the restaurant and bedrooms.

we were allocated a small room that was not suitable for a couple, with very limited space. the promised amenities, such as a flat screen TV and a coffee machine, did not meet our expectations.

We had a great value for our money with a comfortable and spacious room at the Black Lion. The location was perfect, situated on a quieter end of the high street with a beautiful green in front of us. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Breakfast delights would be even better with more varied pricing options.

The value for money at The Black Lion was great, and our room, Barolo, was spacious and full of light. The location was perfect, away from the noise but still close enough for a walk into town. The staff were pet-friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

Convenient location in a charming old building with oak features. Spacious, well-decorated room with ample natural light. Comfortable bed, big bath, and large shower head. Excellent dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant. Beautiful views of Holy Trinity Church, Melford Hall, and the green.

We had a fantastic time at The Black Lion in Long Melford! The bar was cozy with a crackling log fire and great drinks. The room was beautifully decorated with refillable bottles and lovely decor. The breakfast was the best I've had in ages. We also enjoyed the convenient location and the pleasant walk to the high street. we loved everything about our stay.

the garden area was lovely and added to the luxurious experience. the room was well, appointed, with private facilities that made it feel like a high, end retreat. the menu at the restaurant was expansive and catered to special dietary needs.

The only minor issue was with the bar/lounge area, as it was slightly lacking in atmosphere. this was easily compensated for by the attentive and friendly staff who made sure that all my needs were met.

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the friendly and helpful staff at The Black Lion. The clean and comfortable rooms were perfect for a mid-week break. The delicious breakfast was a great start to our day. The fact that the hotel accepts dogs staying is a nice touch.

Felt almost like home, no complaints.
