The bed and breakfast had a friendly atmosphere and the hosts were welcoming. the breakfast options were varied and delicious, with freshly baked bread and homemade marmalade. the packed lunches provided for our walks were also impressive, with tasty cheese rolls and mouth-watering blueberry muffins. the location of the B&B was convenient as it served as a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

The host seemed overly inquisitive and often asked probing questions, which made us feel uncomfortable. there were instances where our room was entered without our permission, leading to a feeling of invasion of our privacy.

The hotel's location is perfect for exploring the area. I could easily walk to both Matlock and Matlock Bath, where I found plenty of bars, restaurants, and attractions. It was also within easy walking distance of the Heights of Abraham, offering stunning views. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional, and the facilities, such as the hot tub and beautiful garden, added to the enjoyment of my stay. The breakfast provided a wide range of choices and was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and friendly, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.

I had the best mini break yet at this hotel in Matlock. The friendly and helpful staff made me feel very welcome and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. From the delicious packed lunches for my walks to the mouth-watering meals, everything was top-notch. The homemade marmalade and the scrumptious breakfast, including maple syrup and banana porridge, were definitely highlights. The hotel also had a lovely garden and the location along the river with beautiful cliffs added to the overall charm.

The hotel also has a beautiful terrace and garden area, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or simply relaxing in the sun.

The room was cosy and the bed was super comfy. They even provided a bed for our dog and a tray for his water/food bowls which was really nice. The breakfast was superb! Everything about the breakfast was amazing - the service, the room, the food and the fact that there was variety was an added bonus, the value for money was incredible! The owners were delightfully friendly and helpful. The location in the river on the way back from the pub was perfect.

Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

The coffee was good and the location was perfect, close to all the shops and restaurants. the room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfy.

The owners were very intrusive, constantly asking personal questions and invading our privacy. They even went into our room without our permission and moved our things around.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area, giving great advice on local facilities. The cottage itself was beautiful and clean, with outstanding food and drink provided. The little touches, like providing an umbrella when it was raining, were thoughtful and went above and beyond.

The additional charge for breakfast was not made clear beforehand, and it would have been helpful to have this information upfront. Despite the delicious breakfast, it would have been nice to have known about the extra cost in advance.
