We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was outstanding, with rooms that were clean, tidy, and well decorated. The modern facilities, including the great bathroom and shower, added to the overall comfort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Laura, who went above and beyond to help us. The location was perfect for our needs, as it was close to the Nuffield private hospital where we were visiting our daughter. Additionally, the hotel's position on the hill provided a beautiful sea view. The breakfast, cooked to order and included in the stay, was delicious and the full English is a must-try. we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The value for money at Downs Hotel was excellent, with clean and comfortable rooms. The location was easy to find with good parking, and the staff at reception/bar were friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast delights would have been improved with a better selection of coffee options, instead of just an espresso machine.

The location of the hotel is excellent, with easy access to the Racecourse park & ride and a bus stop just across the road. This makes it convenient for exploring Brighton without having to worry about parking charges. Additionally, being adjacent to the beautiful South Downs national park allows for lovely walks and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and clean, providing a relaxing space for guests. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The hotel could benefit from some maintenance and TLC to improve the overall experience.

This hotel offers great value for money, with affordable prices and attention to detail. Its location, adjacent to the beautiful South Downs national park, is perfect for those who enjoy long hikes from Lewes to Brighton. It's also situated outside of Brighton centre, which offers a more peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The staff provide excellent service and the basic amenities are well-maintained. The rooms are spacious with great facilities, including a private bathroom that was newly refurbished to a very high standard with an amazing bathroom, complete with a heater.

Noisy hotel, had trouble with the showers.

We enjoyed the amazing views from the restaurant and bar, they were truly breathtaking. the newly refurbished rooms were comfortable and clean, we slept really well. the staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay pleasant. Parking was convenient, but we also noticed there was easy access to public transport.

Sadly, the rooms were not as clean as we expected. Our room was not dusted properly as we found filth on the floor and skirting boards.

We had a warm welcome from the staff and they were friendly throughout our stay. Our room was warm, comfortable, and very clean. The hotel is located near a busy main road junction, making transportation easy. It is also near Brighton seafront, which provided stunning views down the valley over the sea. The breakfast service was excellent, with friendly staff and quick service.

Felt like home, no complaints at all.

During my recent stay at a hotel in Brighton, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and modernity in the room. The separate bath and shower added a touch of luxury, and the coffee machine and fan were thoughtful additions. The staff were also pleasant and accommodating, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. Despite a few minor inconveniences, such as a lack of out-of-hour facilities and some noise from the traffic outside, my overall experience at the hotel was positive. The location was convenient, with easy access to the city via the bus route right outside the hotel. The Sunday quiz was a highlight for my daughter, adding some extra entertainment to our stay. The breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection of food and a good range of bar drinks. I also appreciated the hassle-free parking and the fact that both of our rooms overlooked a peaceful rear area, free from disruptions. Should I find myself in this part of the world again, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

The room itself was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and clean. the ambience in the bar/restaurant area was impressive and the breakfast, although small, was delicious.

The ensuite shower room was in need of a deep clean and some maintenance work. the noise from the road and bar below was quite disruptive, and the windows didn't seem to be double glazed.

Great location with stunning views. Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, allowing us to check in early and providing a warm welcome with a personalized card in our room. the recent renovations were a pleasant surprise, enhancing our overall experience. the rooms were clean, cozy, and nicely decorated. the Sunday roast and dessert were delicious and reasonably priced.
