hoops inn & country hotel blew us away! amazing character, delicious food, and welcoming staff made this one of our best stays. the room with the four-poster bed was spacious, and the bathroom with the spa bath was a delight. breakfast cooked to order, and the dinner was first-class. highly recommend!

Shower water too hot.

We had a fantastic stay at a charming country inn. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean with a great shower. The bar and lounge areas were lovely, and we particularly enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and delicious. we highly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Devon.

This hotel offers great value for money with its affordable prices and attention to detail. The location is perfect, nestled in beautiful gardens and surrounded by stunning countryside. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The rooms are well-appointed with good facilities, including fabulous modern bathrooms and views over the countryside. The breakfasts are delicious, with scrambled eggs and tasty sausages sourced locally, using quality ingredients.

The food was exceptional, both for dinner and breakfast, with generous portions and great value for money. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely consider returning in the future.

the location of the hotel was excellent. The lovely garden area provided a serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. Additionally, the ongoing refurbishment ensured that the rooms were clean and modern, offering a comfortable stay. The service from the friendly staff was also commendable. Furthermore, the breakfast on the second day was much improved, with a variety of options to choose from. the hotel offered a pleasant stay with its beautiful surroundings and cozy amenities.

The dining experience was a letdown. One morning, the breakfast served consisted of rubbery scrambled eggs, tough bacon, and lukewarm coffee, leaving us disappointed.

Quaint thatched pub located in beautiful North Devon. Staff provided incredible warmth and welcome, making us feel at home. The breakfast offered delicious 'Stateside' style pancakes and a traditional English option. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and had a jacuzzi bath. a lovely experience with friendly staff, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel is located on the estuary called Appledore, which makes it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The room we stayed in was spacious, airy, and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious and offered a varied menu. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Hoops Inn & Country was fantastic! We got great value for our money with a warm and cosy room that was spotlessly clean. The location was peaceful and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay.

The food for breakfast could have been improved with a wider variety of options.

Stayed for a city break and the room was perfect. the bed was incredibly comfortable and the en-suite had an excellent shower. We loved the historic public rooms and the atmosphere was great. the chef prepared high quality dishes for both dinner and breakfast and the beer garden was a perfect spot to relax with a drink. the location was ideal, close to key attractions and transport links.

Although check-in was friendly, it wasn't professional enough. the staff didn't check if the right bed type or bathroom preference was booked - this was quickly resolved, but it was still a bit inconvenient.

Welcoming and friendly staff, fascinating building with character, modern and comfortable room, delicious meals, plenty of parking and attractive gardens.
