During our recent stay at a lovely inn in Liss, we were amazed by the delicious and wholesome food served in the large and spacious restaurant. The traditional British dishes, like the mouthwatering steak and kidney pie with a crispy suet crust, took us back to fond childhood memories. The option to have a smaller portion pudding with a little pot of coffee for just £5 was a thoughtful touch. The pub had a warm and familiar old charm that made us feel right at home. The friendly and smiley couple who run the inn made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The beer garden was a great spot to relax and enjoy a drink. We were also pleased to find a shed where we could securely store our bikes overnight.

Although our room was clean and comfortable, it was a disabled room with a wet room, which we weren't particularly fond of due to the always wet floor. The beds were a bit basic.

A last-minute reservation at The Jolly Drover proved to be a delightful choice during our exploration of the region. Our spacious and well-appointed room provided all the comforts needed for a short stay. The amenities, including bottled water, tea, coffee, and biscuits, were a thoughtful touch. The fluffy towels and sustainable toiletries in the good-sized bathroom were much appreciated. Despite being located on a busy road, the rooms at the back were peaceful and quiet. We especially loved the plentiful and delicious breakfast options, including homemade jam. The friendly staff made us feel welcomed at every encounter. If we find ourselves in the region again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at this gem of a hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and completely silent at night. The location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle but still easily accessible. The hotel facilities were great, with a cozy and well-decorated dining area and a lovely fireplace. The food served in the restaurant was remarkable and exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and efficient, providing outstanding service. this was one of the best places we have stayed in the UK.
