The guest house is conveniently located near a wedding venue, making it a good choice for those attending such an event. The owner, Janice, is accommodating and friendly, even going out of her way to bring forward the check-in time for a guest. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, with thoughtful touches like lemon cake and lavender spray. Breakfast is delicious and there is a large choice of teas, coffees, and other goodies like biscuits and sweets. fresh milk is available in the lounge area.

The parking at the guest house is a little tight.

I gotta say, the value for money at this place was spot on. The room was clean and cozy, with all the little extras you wouldn't expect at a B&B. The location was perfect for exploring South Wales and the West country, and having a nice pub right across the street was a bonus. Janice, the host, was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Plus, she had a stash of free jelly babies that brought back childhood memories and made our stay feel extra special.

The breakfast selection could use a little improvement, but that's just a minor thing.

The hotel's location opposite a pub was a real plus, and the fact that the host lives next door made it convenient for taxi rides to nearby attractions like Chepstow Races. this hotel exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

I had a superb stay at The Lychgate in Caldicot for a work trip. The staff were very accommodating, even when I arrived late at night. The room was great, with a comfortable bed and a clean, refreshing shower. I loved the little touches like the biscuits, tea, and coffee provided, as well as the cold water for bedtime. The breakfast was first-class, with delicious local produce. I can't wait to return for a proper holiday next time!

Stayed at a lovely B&B called the Lychgate for a weekend getaway. the place was spotless and beautifully decorated. the owner, Janice, was incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service, especially during breakfast. the room had lots of thoughtful touches, like Welsh cakes and chocolates. the location was convenient, with a nice pub just opposite, serving delicious food. A great base for exploring South Wales and the West country.

Our stay at the lovely Lychgate was truly memorable. The location, right by the picturesque Castle grounds, was simply perfect for peaceful walks. We also found a charming pub just across the road, which added to the overall experience. The food at the Castle Inn was delicious, well-presented, and served by such friendly staff. The room itself was cozy and Janice, the host, went above and beyond to make us comfortable. From the homemade sponge cake and sweets in our room to the relaxing lavender spray for our pillows, every small detail was considered. The bathroom was nice and the breakfast was absolutely yummy. I do have a minor preference for firmer beds, but that's just personal. Everything else was great, and I highly recommend this delightful place. I would definitely stay here again.
