We had an amazing time at this charming hotel with a fantastic location. The hotel is conveniently situated near a busy road, making it easy for us to explore nearby attractions like Beamish, a living museum, and the historic wall. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean, with a modern bathroom and a powerful shower. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided great service. We enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast each morning before setting off on our adventures. The hotel also had a lovely bar with a wide selection of beers. We were impressed by the excellent food and great value for money. we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

The single bed was a bit small for our liking.

Had an amazing Christmas getaway! the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. the complimentary drink upon arrival was a lovely touch after a long drive. the rooms were clean and well-maintained, with a great shower. the location was perfect, conveniently close to Durham. the food was delicious, with generous portions and a varied menu to choose from.

Nice evening meal served outside as weather was good. Excellent cooked breakfast. Good location to motorway. Would use again.

We stayed at The Old Mill for a League Match against Chester FC at Spennymoor Town Football Club. The hotel's proximity to the football club was very convenient. The welcome we received from the friendly staff was warm and pleasant. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely comfy bed. The dinner and freshly cooked breakfast-to-order were delicious and piping hot, unlike many hotel buffets. it was great value for money.

We had a wonderful stay at Old Mill. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. The atmosphere was both private and social, giving us the best of both worlds. The food choice was excellent, although the portion sizes were a bit overwhelming. We were impressed with the charming and cozy room, complete with all the necessary amenities. The location was picturesque and welcoming, creating a calm and relaxing environment. We will definitely be back to explore more of the area.

For our trip, we booked a double room at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The location was convenient, especially when it was raining and we had kids with us. The staff was cheerful and helpful, and the breakfast was a real treat. The room itself was comfortable and had all the necessary facilities. It was a great base for visiting family in the local area and also for our trip to Kynren.

The pillows were as hard as rocks, and it would be better if they were replaced.

We stayed at The Old Mill for two nights while visiting friends in the area. The location is excellent - quiet, in beautiful countryside, yet very accessible from the A1. From check-in to departure, everything was great. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom, and the food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and were impressed with the quality. Highly recommended!

Stayed at a lovely hotel on our journey to Scotland. The Old Mill provided comfortable rooms with excellent facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing attentive service throughout our stay. We enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast and had a lovely evening meal with a wide selection to choose from. The location was ideal for breaking up our journey and had easy access to main roads.

We absolutely loved our stay at this place! The location was perfect for us as it was close to our family's house and there were no other pubs or restaurants that we could find within a reasonable distance for a stopover while we were traveling north on the A1. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who knew how to provide excellent customer service with a casual and friendly manner. The room amenities were fantastic, including ironing facilities and tea and coffee facilities. We also appreciated the presence of an am/fm alarm clock, which made waking up in the morning a breeze. The dining restaurant and bar/lounge area were great spots to relax and unwind after a long day of traveling. the staff gave us great service and made us feel right at home.
