This hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. the rooms were spacious and comfortable, with large beds and nice en suite bathrooms. The attention to detail was evident in the beautiful Snow White bed linen and good quality towels provided. Secondly, the staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful, and quick to assist with any requests or questions we had. Lastly, the breakfast, which was included in the price, was simply delicious, with a great selection of dishes served with small portions.

We couldn't find any faults, everything was perfect.

On a nice day, the beer garden at this hidden gem offers an excellent place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We loved being just a short distance away from the majestic Aira Force waterfall, providing us with wonderful opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the Lake District. The peaceful and serene location of the hotel allowed us to truly escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy Lakes.

The food, however, did not always meet our expectations. Some dishes, like the breakfast, had a "kept warm" taste, and the dinner was dry and overly salty.

I recently stayed at Royal Hotel in a beautiful village above Ullswater. The drive up from Bo'ness on Windermere alongside Ulswater was stunning. The hotel is just a minute's drive from the road and has its own pretty beer garden and free parking. The bar had a good selection of food and beer, and breakfast was freshly made to order and absolutely delicious. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable, with a lovely ensuite boasting a great shower. The staff were extremely helpful and polite, making the experience even more enjoyable. I can't wait to return!

I had a wonderful stay at a charming hotel in a picturesque location. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the garden and mountains. The food at the hotel was outstanding, especially the generous portions and delicious pavlova. Despite the dated decor, the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel for its great value, fabulous breakfast, and great location.

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. the location was ideal, tucked away from the tourist crowds, providing a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. We also enjoyed the delicious food at the hotel's restaurant, which offered a great selection of dishes.

The bathroom in our room was also in need of some maintenance, with missing grouting and a not-so-pleasant shower. Despite these minor issues, we were still able to enjoy our stay and make the most of the hotel's charming surroundings.

The location was fantastic, surrounded by beautiful scenery and just a short walk away from Aira Force waterfalls. The staff were really friendly and provided excellent service. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the hotel facilities were great. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the tasty fish and chips for dinner. The parking was convenient and we also found it easy to get to the nearby lakes. it was a fantastic experience.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is stunning, close to Aira Force waterfalls and just a short drive from the lake. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a big carpark and a lovely beer garden where you can enjoy the warm weather. The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially the barman. The food at this place was simply amazing, both for breakfast and dinner. There was a wide variety of options available, including a delicious full English breakfast, perfectly cooked salmon and eggs, and mouthwatering dishes like lamb shank and fish and chips. The room was big, clean, and had a great view. The shower had good pressure and the temperature was adjustable. this hotel offered excellent cleanliness, great facilities, ample parking, and a convenient location near the waterfalls and the lake.

Just returned from a magical city break in the Lake District. the hotel we stayed in was a real gem - comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated exteriors, and a peaceful location just 10 minutes from lake Ulleswater. the staff were welcoming and friendly, and really created a relaxed atmosphere. We loved the extensive menu, with fresh, locally-sourced food and a good selection of wine and beer. the breakfast was also a highlight, with great options to choose from. Plus, ample parking and well-maintained external gardens added to the experience.

There were a couple of downsides for some people. if you're someone who likes to be constantly connected, there was no mobile signal and the Wi-Fi was a little weak.
