The Royal Hop Pole Wetherspoon has spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a lovely view of the Abbey. The staff are friendly and polite, and the hotel is in a picturesque setting. The bar and restaurant offer good value for money, and the location is excellent, close to the Abbey and High Street shops.

The staff at Royal Hop Pole went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They kindly provided extra fans to keep our rooms cool, and they were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. The location of the hotel was also convenient, with free parking available on site. I had a great experience and would recommend this hotel to others.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right in the centre of a pretty town with interesting history. It's on a slope, which gives a nice view from some rooms. Plus, being in a Wetherspoons pub means you have easy access to inexpensive food and drink. The room I stayed in had beautiful beams and the bathroom was clean with all the necessary amenities. The staff were pleasant and service was prompt. The breakfast offered a good variety of options to choose from.

That the room was slightly tired looking, not as nice as the photos suggested.

During our Christmas stay, we enjoyed the festive atmosphere in this historic building, which was decorated beautifully. the complementary mince pies and mulled wine were a lovely touch, adding to the festive feeling. the location was perfect, right in the heart of the town, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local attractions. We also appreciated the free parking, which was a great benefit during the busy holiday season.

We did have a few issues during our stay that detracted from our experience. the room was quite small and felt cramped, with limited storage space for our belongings.

Right on the river with a great view from the room. No need to climb lots of stairs. Comfy bed and fluffy white towels with a good shower and plenty of hot water. Nice selection of real ales and enjoyable choices at breakfast. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

I recently had a fantastic stay at a hotel located in the heart of town, right by the river. The value for money was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The hotel's attention to detail was evident throughout, from the friendly and helpful staff to the basic amenities provided in the rooms. I particularly loved the quirky bedrooms with their excellent views. Plus, the breakfast offered was absolutely delicious.

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel in the center of a pretty town with an interesting history. The location by the river was picturesque, and I loved feeling like I was staying in a little museum with all the different areas and hallways. The attention to detail was evident in the well-maintained rooms, especially the excellent bed with good facilities. The views from the room were even better than in the photos, which was a delightful surprise. The breakfast was also a highlight, with a good selection and affordable prices.
