We loved the stunning river views from our room and the homely atmosphere at The Sanctuary. The owners, Karen and Dave, were friendly and helpful, adding to the delightful experience. Breakfast was delicious with fresh local ingredients. The eco-friendly approach and homemade cake were a bonus.

The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking and the location was incredibly peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was spacious and well-furnished. The breakfast provided was delicious and healthy, and the carrot cake left for us upon arrival was a sweet touch. The attention to detail in the room was evident, from the high-quality furnishings to the thoughtfully provided tins for the soaps. The grounds were extensive and perfect for leisurely walks.

The hotel was a bit of a distance from Fowey, making it a bit inconvenient to walk back in the evening. However, this was a minor issue and we were still able to enjoy the short walk down to the local pub and estuary.

We had a fantastic stay at The Sanctuary! The barn owl studio/apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated. The views of the river were absolutely amazing. We loved the enclosed balcony area, which was perfect for our dog. The location was great, just a short drive to Fowey. We enjoyed walking our dog around the orchard and woodland. The eco-friendly amenities were a nice touch. Highly recommend!

The hotel facilities were excellent, including a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge area. The hotel's emphasis on protecting the environment was also commendable.

From the modern, spacious, and clean rooms with a relaxing ambiance, to the high-quality finishing touches like handmade soaps and a delightful scent of lemongrass, everything was thoughtfully designed. The stunning views from the balcony, surrounded by beautiful wild flowers and a wildlife pond, added to the overall charm of this place. Additionally, the breakfast served on the terrace was a delight, with fresh local ingredients and the best muesli, jams, and cheeses I've ever tasted.

Breakfast is plentiful and the 24/7 offering of homemade cake, fresh coffee and good quality tea is far more superior than anywhere else we’ve stayed. The Sanctuary was a great find and you’ll want to return to explore further poetic areas of Cornwall or just lay comfortably in your bed marvelling at the stunning view.
