The location of the hotel is perfect, just outside of the old city walls and deceptively close to the city center. It is right near everything you need, with easy access to attractions and amenities. The rooms are clean and simple, with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The staff are friendly and accommodating, providing amenities such as kettles and fans. The pub downstairs offers a great drink range and adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.

One negative aspect is that the rooms can be a bit noisy, especially if located near busy streets or above the pub.

The proximity to the York Barbican Theatre was excellent, making it convenient for us to attend a show. The barman/host was really friendly and gave us directions to nearby food outlets when the kitchen was closed. The bedding and towels in our room were spotless, ensuring a comfortable stay. We also appreciated the availability of an iron and ironing board outside our bedroom.

The bedroom being really hot, even with the window open. We were unable to request a fan due to our late return from the show.

The hotel is conveniently located not far from the center of York and offers parking. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. the landlady was willing to provide a refund for the remaining days of our stay.

The room could have done with updating and there were some maintenance issues, such as a broken toilet seat and a blocked shower drain. The shower room also had black stains in the tile grout and flaking paint.

The rooms, located on the upper level, have a fresh modern bathroom, complete with a boiler. They boast character and attention to detail, offering great value for money. The friendly staff provide spot-on service, making you feel right at home. And don't forget the breakfast, it's simply delicious!

During my stay at The Victoria Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent location, just a short walk from the Barbican. The staff were friendly and always willing to help with any requests or questions I had.

Good value for money, spacious room, en-suite, manageable distance to York centre, good selection of nearby eateries, clean and fresh room, everything we needed, warm and cozy, accommodating to requests, freshly cooked and delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful owner, easy walk to the city centre, free parking, lovely pub with a good atmosphere, great value for a stay in York.

Nothing everything was great.

The hotel's location was perfect for us, as it was close to the Barbican where we had a show to see. It was also just outside the walls of this city but only a few minutes' walk to Walmgate. The free parking was a great bonus and made it easy for us to explore the area. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast provided was delicious and kept us fueled for the day. We had a comfortable stay and would definitely return.
