As a young family, we loved the friendly and serving staff, clean rooms, and convenient location. The hotel is in a great spot, close to the beach and the main shopping area. Our family room felt more like an apartment, with a kitchen, dining and lounge area, and a bedroom and bathroom. The pool was a big hit with our kids, and we even spotted hummingbirds in the plants around it. great value for money!

Great location, just one block from The Promenade and a short walk to Santa Monica Pier/Beach. Loved the cozy feeling of staying in a home. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was handy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I recommend this hotel.

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect for exploring the city. We were just a short walk away from the main square with all the shops and also the beach. Plus, there were plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby.

While the room was spacious, we did notice that everything seemed a bit worn and outdated. The price we paid for the hotel was also on the higher side compared to other places we stayed during our trip.

The location is central and walking distance to Izzy's restaurant and all Santa Monica has to offer. However, it is not that close to the beach or 3rd street promenade. The room is spacious and comes with a vintage well-equipped kitchen. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The noise from the pool area and adjacent dumpsters can be disturbing at night, making it difficult to sleep.

The location was fantastic close to the beach and the famous promenade. Our room had a kitchen and was very spacious as it was an apartment. The courtyard was beautiful with lots of greenery and a heated pool. Despite being an old building, our room was well maintained and comfortable. Overall I would recommend staying here.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location was perfect, just a block away from the Santa Monica promenade and overlooking the beach from Palisades Park. The suites were huge and offered great value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the basic amenities were all provided. The rooms were spacious, with two large TVs for entertainment. It felt like a great place for a family stay.

The walls and ceilings of the rooms were paper-thin, which could be a bit of a drawback if you value complete silence at night. However, considering the location in a city, it was to be expected and didn't bother me too much.

Coming from Las Vegas, the old-fashioned charm of Cal Mar Hotel Suites took some getting used to, but we grew to appreciate its unique character. The cleanliness and safety of the hotel were unparalleled, and the staff, especially Maria at the reception, were incredibly attentive. The hotel's quiet atmosphere made us feel like we were the only guests, and the spaciousness of the apartment-style room was fabulous. Additionally, the location was ideal, close to the beach and the bustling 3rd street area for dining, shopping, and entertainment.

The complex overlooked a pool surrounded by palm trees, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The location was perfect, just a few minutes' walk to the beach, 3rd street stores, and the nearby bars and cafes. The staff were helpful and ensured our requests were taken care of. we had a great experience and would definitely return to Cal Mar Hotel Suites.

While the tap water tasted a little weird, we didn't mind as it added to the old school charm of the place. The rooms were definitely dated, frozen in time from the 50s, with a rusty kitchen sink.
