The location of the motel is perfect as it is close to everything in the Black Hills. the swing outside adds a nice touch and the room itself was a decent size.

The bathroom was quite small and made it difficult to get dressed comfortably with the door closed.

We had a great time spending Christmas at this hotel. The contactless check-in and breakfast in the room were very convenient during these times. The staff was helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome. The location was perfect, with easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. The rooms had a charming old charm that added to the overall experience.

One downside was that the bathrooms in some rooms were small, which could be a bit inconvenient. Additionally, in one of the rooms, the window unit AC was a bit noisy, which disrupted our sleep.

I recently stayed at the Chalet in Custer for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The historic ambiance of the hotel combined with modern amenities made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The owner, Michelle, was friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent service. The location was ideal, within walking distance of a grocery store, coffee shop, and the Mickelson trail. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were cozy, and the staff was wonderful. I can't recommend this hotel enough!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations for local activities and restaurants. The location of the hotel was perfect, allowing us to easily explore downtown and take short drives to Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We loved the continental breakfast that was delivered to our room each morning, including delicious muffins, juice, and fresh fruit. It was a convenient and tasty way to start our day.

The bathroom in our room was quite small, which made it a bit cramped at times. the size of the room itself was on the smaller side, with limited space for bedside tables or extra furniture.

I stayed two nights with my dog, Murphy, and wish I had booked another night or two. The cabin and location were perfect for us. Clean, comfortable bed, dog area, next door to a coffee/breakfast restaurant, and a short walk to shopping and forest trails. The owner, Michelle, is very kind and hands-on. Perfect for a quaint, small town experience.
