The panoramic views of the Cape Fear Riverfront from the Hotel Ballast Wilmington were truly breathtaking. It added a touch of serenity and beauty to my stay. the hotel's proximity to the Battleship North Carolina made it convenient to explore the area's rich history and culture. The restaurant services were prompt and the food was delicious.

The room for left-overs did not have a very nice smell. While the room itself was comfortable, it could use a more spacious and comfortable setting for relaxation, particularly considering the size of the room.

The hotel's location in downtown Wilmington is perfect, with everything close by. The comfortable rooms had modern bathrooms with showers and great views of the Cape Fear River. The fishing trip chartered with Captain Carl and Kobe on the Fish Witch was a highlight for me and my teenage boys. The staff was attentive and made us feel welcome, even surprising us with a bottle of wine and free breakfast for our anniversary celebration. The bar restaurant had amazing food and drinks, and the bartender was excellent. the hotel provided a welcoming and comfortable experience.

I recently stayed at a hotel in downtown with a group for a funeral, and Hotel Ballast exceeded my expectations. The location was incredibly convenient, within walking distance of all downtown restaurants, shops, and activities. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, making our stay even more pleasant. The pool and outdoor amenities were amazing, and being right off the downtown boardwalk was a great perk. I had a room with a beautiful view and enjoyed an awesome sunset. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at this hotel! The location on the riverwalk was perfect, and we were able to walk to all the downtown bars and restaurants. Our room had an amazing view of the river and was very comfortable. The staff from the valet to the housekeepers were exceptional, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We also appreciated the room service and other amenities like the free Wi-Fi in our room and the welcome drink upon arrival.

We had a wonderful time and the staff was very attentive. The hotel was in disrepair but the location downtown was great. The beds were comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. Despite the issues, the check-in lady was really nice and the evening waitstaff at the Board and Barrel were superb. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, making it convenient to explore the area. The bathrooms with the shower without the tub were a favorite feature. We also enjoyed a fishing trip arranged through the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for its location and comfortable accommodations.

The service fell short in a few areas. the parking situation was confusing and costly, with valet strongly urged and tipping expected.

During my Christmas stay, I absolutely loved the beautiful view from my room. Waking up to the North Carolina battleship and river view was breathtaking. the location was also a plus, as I was able to easily walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. It made exploring the area so much more convenient. Additionally, the pool area provided a nice and relaxing escape.

One thing that I didn't like was that coffee was only available in the lobby until 10am. It would have been great if it was available through check out time, especially since check out is at 11am.

The hotel's location is perfect, right on the river, with easy access to downtown and across the river. The rooms, especially the ones with a historic town view and two beds, were clean and well-furnished. We also appreciated the breakfast included in our rate, which was served with attention to detail.
