My stay at the magical sister hotel was the perfect sanctuary during my move to the East Coast. the historical charm combined with the warm and welcoming staff created a home away from home. the on-site restaurant served delicious meals, and the room was cozy with a beautiful bathroom. the evening wine hour was a delightful surprise, and the in-wall heater added extra comfort to the room.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel, with its prime location near fantastic restaurants in the area. the staff were warm and helpful, making me feel at home. the continental breakfast offered a variety of options, including homemade bread and meat/cheese plates for international guests. the facilities at the sister property, such as the tennis courts and indoor pool, were a great addition to my stay.

We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was delicious with a good variety of pastries. the location was perfect as it was close to various restaurants, shops, and beauty salons. the staff was friendly and attentive, and they offered bikes to borrow, which was a great advantage for exploring the area easily.

Our room had a musty smell, although it wasn't unbearable. the window did not have a screen, and the carpet was thin and a bit old.

This hotel is full of character and charm, nestled high on a hill with a stunning view of the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to every detail, from the delicious breakfast to the clean and well-kept rooms, complete with a king-sized four-poster canopy bed and a TV.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the complimentary wine hour included a selection of tasty cheeses and crackers. we had a charming and delightful experience at this historic inn. Though, the continental breakfast was limited and lacked tables. Nonetheless, we recommend 1820 House to anyone visiting Simsbury.
